この時を、どれほど待ちわびたことか…。珠玉の名盤「FALLING AWAKE」発表以来、約7年振りとなる2ndソロ・アルバムを、ついにPaul Alanが発表した。以下、Paul Alanからのメールを原文のまま掲載。
Hello friends...
Let me start my admitting just how awful I am at communicating... If you have received this rather impersonal bulk message, you have either emailed me at some point in the past 7 years or signed up for a mailing list to which I have sent absolutely no mail... Forgive me... This album has been a long winding road, and I honestly can't believe it's done. Since my last album, I have seen 2 major distribution companies and 2 record labels go out of business. That cost us about 2 years right there... We lost 3 songs that had been completely done and mixed to a hard drive failure. There went another 6 months. Tack on marriage, the birth of a son, a full time job, completion of a bachelors degree, lawn mowing and hanging Christmas lights, and that pretty much brings us to present day. Anyway...
I fell in love again this past Christmas with the classic "Little Drummer Boy"... I actually came to tears listening to Josh Groban sing the line "little baby- I am a poor boy too... I have no gift to bring that's fit to give a king..." And the thing is, that's me... The song goes on- "shall I play for him on my drum? And Mary nodded"... Because all He wants is our best. These songs, such as they are, are the best I have to give. And so I lay them at the feet of God to be used however He sees fit...
The album is called "Drive it Home" and you can get it at www.buydriveithome.com. I am fully "indie" now, and have very limited resources for marketing, so I am asking for your help. If you hear it and like it, please pass this along to your friends... If all goes well, it won't be 7 years until the next one!

Paul Alanなかなか発表されなかったからヤキモキしたけど、やはり色々と紆余曲折を経たようで、そうした中でも無事にリリースできて本当に良かった。メールにするとたった数行だけど、相当苦労したんだろうな。
サンプル聴く限り、相変わらず素晴らしい曲を書いているようなので、今度こそヒットして欲しい。
